Poetic Jazz’s mission is to provide a platform and community for musicians, poets, and artists to perform, collaborate, learn, and engage with audiences through live performances, improv jazz, spoken word, poetry, creative workshops, and cultural outreach.

Our focus is on creating live music and poetry experiences that engage both artists and audiences. Each show is curated with intention and comes with a built in audience, so artists can focus on performing without worrying about filling the room. What sets Poetic Jazz apart is our improvisational approach: the live band does not rehearse in advance but reviews the music and develops their own interpretation, giving artists the freedom to perform authentically without overthinking. Shows also feature an open mic, inviting the community to participate and be part of the creative culture.

We intentionally partner with newly opened and BIPOC-owned venues, transforming these spaces into cultural experiences. Venues simply open their doors, and Poetic Jazz handles marketing, event curation, staffing, and audience engagement.

Our long-term goal is to become a full creative hub where artists can learn, develop, and grow at every stage.
